The brewery industry is one of the most traditional sectors in alcoholic beverage manufacturing. Beer production requires substantial water use, especially during brewing and filling processes. Key uses of water in brewing include mashing, sparging liquors, and high- gravity brewing. Process water is also essential for washing and sterilizing vessels, cleaning and sanitizing containers, pasteurization, and refrigeration.

Most wastewater is generated from bottle cleaning and cleaning brewing utensils, such as kettles, pans, and storage tanks. Consequently, brewery wastewater primarily contains sugars, dyes, hop resins, husks, and cleaning chemicals.

Brewery wastewater has high organic matter and nutrient concentrations, necessitating treatment to ensure regulatory compliance. Primary characteristics include low pH, high sugar and alcohol levels, elevated TSS, and increased COD and BOD.

We offer comprehensive wastewater treatment solutions that encompass screening, pre-treatment, primary settling, anaerobic digestion (UASB), aerobic systems, secondary settling, and filtration with polishing units to comply with Pollution Control Board norms. Additionally, we provide recycling systems like ultrafiltration (UF) and reverse osmosis (RO) to recycle treated water for utility purposes. Our sludge management system dewaters the sludge using decanter centrifuges, screw presses, or belt presses.
